“Legs”
Synopsis: Virgil lures them in with his artwork, but
once inside he has other plans for them, or better yet, their legs!
The girl’s forehead drips with sweat as she wakes
from the affects of the drug. She tries to move her arms, but the straps
holding her still won’t let her. Her vision is blurred, but she makes out the
figure of a man with his back to her. She wants to scream but no sound escapes
her throat. He turns around and notices she has come to.
“Ah, my sweet, you have arrived at the right
moment!! Now I can finish to my masterpiece.” He lifts the blade and WHACK;
once, then twice and quickly, lovingly lifts each limb and places them into the
freezer. Noticing that she’s still moving, WHACK!! He severs the head and prepares
the carcass for disposal and walks to the front of the RV and starts the
engine.
As the RV rips down the highway, the song “Legs” by
ZZ Top plays loudly on the radio. It turns off the road and after a few minutes
stops; the back door opens and a large plastic bundle is thrown out. Back on
the highway, he contemplates his next stop.
After driving for what seems like days, the RV stops
at a gas station to refuel and get supplies. While paying he notices a sign
advertising a carnival playing in the next town over. A smile plays upon his
face as he thanks the attendant and grabs his purchase.
Finding the carnival was easy enough, and even
easier was signing up with them. When the carnival owner asked what his gimmick
was he replied “tattoos, I have a mobile tattoo parlor.”
“Hmm, well now that’s mighty nice! Hope you enjoy
your stay with us!”
“I’m sure I will!” he smirked, “I’m sure I will!”
The carnival atmosphere always lures the right kind
of client. Always draws in the young ones. The dreamy, starry-eyed innocent
youth, who are easy to prey on for someone like him.
On the outside he looks like any average person, but
on the inside he carries a dark secret; a hidden passion. Virgil is a gifted
tattoo artist who never fit in the mainstream. His secret urges are not on the
norm.
5:00 and time to set up shop! He eagerly opens his
portable shop and displays pictures of his work. Hours pass with only a few simple
jobs, and Virgil feels a little restless. He bides his time watching people
walk up and down the fairway, a few stopping to ask about rates when he spies a
group of young ladies eyeing his drawings.
“Can I help you ladies?” he purrs.
“I’m looking for something special, are these all
you do?” said a blond wearing a tank top and short shorts. He couldn’t help but
admire them as he looked up,
“What did you have in mind, ma’am?”
“Well, I’d like to get something done on my leg, but
I’m not quite sure what.”
“Well, if you’re lookin’ for something, along those
lines, why don’t you come back after closing and I’ll show you some of my
better work.”
“Well, I don’t know….” She draws out.
“I’ll tell you what, if you like what you see, we
can get started and you can be out within a couple of hours. I’ll give you a
special rate. What do ya’ say?”
Okay. They shake and exchange names, hers was
Chianni.
The rest of the night is a blur for Virgil as he
anxiously awaits his client. “Didja see them legs?” he thinks to himself. He
begins to hunger, the anticipation is too much. Luckily for him, no one catches
on.
Hours pass and the carnival closes for the night.
Virgil is waiting and begins to panic. He needs to soothe himself, calm down.
He walks over to a switch that opens up a secret wall within the RV. Rows and
rows of them, he looks at them, his most precious possessions. He lovingly
caresses each and every one. While lost in his reverie, he doesn’t hear the
knock at the back door.
“Hello?” a voice calls. Virgil looks up and sees
Chianni. He turns around and tries to conceal his works of art.
“I knocked on the door, and it opened, I hope you
don’t mind. I’m sorry I’m late, I had to sneak out of the house.” She stammers.
Not exactly quite sure how to feel and not understanding what she sees, she
composes herself.
Virgil regains his composure. “Oh, sure. No problem.
No problem at all.” He smiles at her. “Let me just get the door. We wouldn’t
want to be interrupted.”
He returns with a book. “Here are some of my more
interesting works of art. Have a look to see what calls out to you. I’ll just
go and get you a drink and we can get started.”
“Thanks,” says Chianni, “that sounds great.”
Chianni looks around and starts feeling uneasy, but
when she looks into the book, she is mesmerized by the beautiful legwork that
he has. She is instantly drawn in. Virgil sets the glass down and urges her to
drink, “It’ll help you relax. I see you have made your selection?”
“Yes, this is really beautiful. Does it take long?”She
replies between gulps.
“No not long at all. I have a special way of
inking.”
Within minutes Chianni begins feeling groggy; the
glass drops from her hand; she falls back in her seat. Virgil picks her up and
lays her on the table. Once strapped down he begins his ritual. He cleanses the
surface, savoring every detail of the leg, he places the design he has selected
for this pair and begins work. Chianni starts to stir and come around. She starts
coughing, and panics when she notices she can’t move she becomes completely
alert. When she looks and sees Virgil’s back to her, she looks around at the
other wall and sees legs. Pairs of legs with beautiful tattoos dressed in high
heeled shoes. Right as she begins to scream, Virgil turns around and “WHACK!!!”
